Missing Person statistics in the United States
National figures show why sustained awareness matters. These statistics describe FBI records across the United States, not the number of profiles on Missing Faces.
Missing Person records entered into NCIC during 2025.
Active Missing Person records in NCIC on December 31, 2025.
Active records for children under 18 on December 31, 2025.
These are record counts, not a count of unique people or a live total. Annual entries and year-end active records measure different things. Records can be removed when a person is located, returns home, or an entry is determined to be invalid.
